Team Information:
Thanks for expressing your interest in joining our team. Here in the Santa Clara Valley, there are many choices for competitive swim clubs. Our main facility will be the 10-lanes x 25-yard pool at Santa Clara High School. We are confident that you will experience success, team bonding and fun for many years to come. We wish to thank you for joining us and welcome you to our Aquatics program.
Mission Statement
The Mission of Bruins Aquatics of Santa Clara (BASC) is to develop a complete aquatics connection of athletes who are a value to society by emphasizing technique, endurance, team-building, leadership, and self-esteem.
The Vision of BASC is to develop a complete aquatics connection for year-round Age Group Swimming and High School Aquatics - swimming, water polo and diving. We will strive to meet the complete needs of all athletes participating for BASC, regardless of age and ability.
Team Philosophy
The ideas and principles behind BASC are created with the individual athlete in mind. Our philosophy is: All participants can achieve success. We believe each athlete is capable of reaching their goals and we are dedicated to delivering this. Also, dedication to aquatic sports can transfer to all aspects of the participants’ lives making them positive contributors in our ever-changing society.
Expectations
As with all sports and education, there are certain expectations that need to be met by every individual involved. The expectations need to be clearly stated and communicated with everyone who wishes to be a part of the team.
1. Respect: The first, and biggest expectation is respect. All Coaches, Parents, and Athletes will treat every member of the team with respect. This includes at practice, meets, and all team functions.
2. Support: Our athletes need the support of everyone involved to help ensure his or her success and enjoyment of the sport. All Athletes, Parents, and Coaches will strive to support each other at all times.
3. Fun: Lastly, we want our members to have fun. Aquatic sports involves hard work that can be balanced with fun. If we respect and support each other and give 100% of our effort, we will all have fun and the experiences will be positive.

BASC, just like all swim teams, needs to collect money to keep the program running. There will be several fundraisers that will help raise money for items such as practice equipment, team caps, shirts, towels and more. Dues will be collected to pay for the coaching and operations of the team. Dues will be structured as follows:
Registration Fees:
1) One-time setup fee of $100 per family for membership registration.
2) $50 paid to Pacific Swimming for the registration of each swimmer. This fee allows the swimmers to compete in meets, and also provides insurance for the swimmers and the team during practices and meets. No Swimmer will be allowed to practice until the Pacific Swimming Membership form is filled out and payment to Pacific Swimming is submitted to the Aquatics Office. You must pay this fee each year to renew your Pacific Swimming membership. Renewal is paid in November-December for the next calendar year. Note: Currently registered Pacific Swimming Swimmers will not need to pay this fee. They will only need to submit a transfer form.
Regular Monthly Dues:
Dues are collected monthly for each swimmer:

First Swimmer in the family

= $90 / month

Additional swimmers (same last name, address)
= $50 / swimmer / month
Dues are collected on the first business day of the month and can be submitted to the Aquatics Office at the pool. Please make checks payable to BASC. The coaching staff will monitor the attendance of your swimmers at practice. The attendance of one (1) practice will constitute the need for Dues paid for that month.
You will be charged a $10 late fee for Dues submitted 10 or more days late. Chronic late payment of Dues may be cause for dismissal from the team.
Dues are subject to change at any time for any reason.
